Starting from unemployment data, U.S. Labor Department reported that fewer Americans applied for unemployment benefit last week.

U.S. weekly jobless claims fell by 50 000 to 352 000 in total.
The decrease exceeded expectations of a fall to 375 000.

The average number of new claims for past four weeks drooped to 379 000. The number is more accurate than weekly data.

The consumer price index reminded unchanged in December. CPI excluding food and fuel increased by seasonally adjusted 0.1% after 0.2% November’s rise.
Annually CPI rose 3.0% and Core CPI climbed 2.2% in last 12 months.

Labor Department reported also data on U.S. Housing Starts. Index fell to seasonally adjusted 660 000 units, below expectations of 690 000.

The euro reminded higher against U.S. dollar after data release. The couple was traded at 1.2919.
