German Trade Balance
The German Federal Statistics Office reported today that country’s trade positive balance lowered to 13.9 billion euro in December 2011, which is below EUR14.1 billion estimated.
Previous month’s data showed 14.9 billion euro surplus.
According to Destatis country’s imports recorded 3.9% decrease, instead 0.7% growth expected.
German exports unexpectedly fell by 4.3%, while analysts expected only 1% decline.
Comparing with 2010 total exports improved by 11.4% and total imports grew by 13.2% in December.
