Canada: Consumer Price Index up in January…
According to Statistics Canada country’s CPI increased to seasonally adjusted 0.4% in January.
After previous month’s 0.6% decline economists forecasted consumer price inflation at 0.3% growth.
Core CPI (excluding 8 most volatile items) increased to 0.2% after -0.5% reading in December.
For the last 12 months CPI grew 2.5% and Core CPI 1.6% in January.
December’s reading showed respectively 2.3% and 1.3% increase.
