Short seller
An individual who is betting on a decline in a stock´ s price by selling it short. In such cases, the individual borrows the stock first (usually from a brokerage firm) in order to sell it. The goal is to buy the security back at a lower price at a later date in order to collect a profit relative to the higher initial selling price.
