Euro spiked at EU Summit leak

The Euro spiked from a quiet upward pace of 1.4180 to more than 40 pips around 1.4220 and continued to reach a high of 1.4290.

Retail Sales in Britain for June were released a lot better than May’s results. June’s retail sales came out at 0.7%, rather than the expected 0.5%; nicely coming back after May’s 1.3% drop.

Euro pushed higher after common agreement between France and Germany

French president Sarkozy and German Chancellor Merkel made an agreement between each other over the Greek economic debt crisis. The details of the agreement are yet unknown untill later today when the EU economic summit will be held in Brussels.
