British Manufacturing PMI at 51.1 points
Great Britain's Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index rose by 51.1 points in September. Economists predicted that PMI would drop in September by 0.5 points compared to last month's actual release of 49.4. Predictions stood at a 48.9 drop, and was released on a positive note of 51.1.
This index measures the level of a diffusion index based on purchasing managers being surveyed in the manufacturing industry.
Sterling pushed down by 70 pips against the U.S Dollar in less than half an hour upon the news release.
