Yen climbs against the Euro and $

The yen climbed for a fourth day versus both the euro and dollar, the yen climbed to 116.48 which was the strongest since March 30. Japan’s currency rose 0.3 % to 82.44 against the greenback.

The yen briefly erased gains versus the dollar and the euro on speculation Japanese importers went short. The yen fell to 81.99 per dollar when the intervention took place on March 18 from a high of 76.25 the previous day.

The MSCI Asia Pacific Index of regional shares fell 1.1 %, after the CRB Index of goods and raw materials dropped 0.9 % yesterday. Australia’s dollar fell 0.4 % to $1.0466, and New Zealand’s dollar fell 0.9 % to 78.43 U.S. cents.
