Australian wheat exports unaffected
Continued demand for Australian Wheat by Japan shows that the recent natural disasters would do little to affect the exports. Japan buys almost 90% of it wheat imports from the US, Cananda and Australia.
Japan bought 103,125 metric tonnes of milling wheat from the US and Australia in a March tender, Australia shipped 431,900 MT to Japan in the first four month of the marketing year which started on October 1st.
Australia is expected to be the 4th largest wheat exporter in 2010-2011 after the US, France and Canada. Wheat on the the CBOT fell 0.2% to $7.255 a bushel eariler.
