U.S. Retail sales disappointing in January
According to Commerce Department U.S. retail sales improved by 0.4% in January as shops offered discounts after holiday season.
December’s revised reading was flat. For today analysts expected 0.8% growth in January sales.
In a yearly capture retail sales improved at 5.8% pace, after 6.8% reading in previous month.
Core retail sales climbed up by 0.7% instead 0.6% expected in the first month of 2012.
