Retailing pickup

Eurostat reported on Monday that retail sales in the 17 euro countries improved unexpectedly in October. The biggest increase was reported in Germany and France.

According to data, retail sales rose by a seasonally adjusted 0.4% in October, ahead of 0.1% increase expectations.

Euro-zone economy is still contracted. While sales remain positive the other aspects, for example manufacturing are continuing to struggle with lower business confidence and growing concerns about euro’s future.
