Retail sales in U.S. fell for the next time

As U.S. Commerce Department reported today country’s volume of retail sales declined again in May by seasonally adjusted 0.2%.
Meanwhile analysts forecasted decrease in volume by 0.1%.
Comparing with last year, index improved by 5.3% from May 2011. In April the difference was amounted for 6.4%.
So called core sales (excluding automobiles) declined also in May by seasonally adjusted 0.4%, but rose at the annual rate by 4.3%.

As a reaction for the news Euro remained higher against American counterpart, with couple traded at 1.2541.
