Retail sales in New Zealand below expectations…
Statistics New Zealand reported today that country’s retail sales volume declined in the first quarter of 2012 by 1.5%, after gaining 1.8% in prior quarter.
Analyst expected a decrease by 0.7%.
As for Core retail sales, excluding automobiles and gas stations, index fell by 2.5%, instead of 0.3% gain estimated.
Previous reading showed 2.3% increase.
