Dow futures were down by 72 points, or 52 points below fair value, at 12,231. Futures for the S&P 500 were lower by 9 points at 1310, and Nasdaq futures were off by 14 points.
Earnings could make for an interesting ride this weekif more companies undershoot expectations, as due to gains in oil and other commodities especially in the first quarter have fueled concerns regarding the the impact on consumers and companies. So this week probably will be range bound, unless there is a real break out and most will stay on the sidelines.
The CBOE VIX, fell to its lowest level since July 2007 on Friday, it ended at 15.32 well below its mid March high of 31.28.
