Most European markets are in negative in morning trading, the UK is up slightly. More aftershocks in Japan are certainly not helping markets. Afternoon trading will be subdued as well as after last week consolidation will be the main game.

After last weeks high commodity runs many investors took profits after a solid three week rally. A new earthquake of magnitude 7.1 in northeast Japan also rattled investors, while a one-meter tsunami advisory was issued for the coast but later was rescinded.

The FTSE is currently trading at 6,060.99 up 5.24 points or 0.09%, CAC 4,034.53,  down 27.38 points or -0.67%, DAX 7,175.18 down -41.84 or -0.58% and the IBEX 10,896.60 down -16.60 or -0.15%.

Currencies are all mostly flat.
